“Disrupt or get Disrupted,” this is a perfect theme for the upcoming 14th Edition of the CFA’s Startup Hangout (CSH)
Disruption is basically driven by the continuous advancement of technology. Many businesses today have practically gone into extinction, while others are disrupted because they failed to disrupt.
Airbnb is a classic example of disruption. Airbnb is an online market place where people book rooms (rental) at low cost basically. It is the world’s largest accommodation website and they do not own any single room. This is made possible through technology.
The company’s net income is valued at $93 million with over 3,100 employees in 2017. This is huge for a company that didn’t lay any foundation for any building.
The bank is an example of a firm that has been heavily disrupted too. They are managing the situation through partnerships with the Fintechs. Today, you may not necessarily need go to the banks to do make transaction. You can make transfers easily and all that.
Sadly, if you are not making any plans to disrupt or innovative you are most likely going to be disrupted. Even in a country like Nigeria, where the adoption of technology is not quite impressive. We have seen disruptions happen in some of the sectors of the economy.
In less than two week the CFAtech team will be hosting the 14th edition of the CFA’s Startups Hangout, at No 53 Oladipo Bateye Street, GRA, Ikeja (31st May, 2018)
This time, the CFAtech team is making it open for every entrepreneur or startup to have an interactive session with a disruptive chief executive.
Jean-Marc Ricca is the Managing Director of BASF West Africa and an expectional executive who believes that Nigeria is blessed with highly intelligent (young) human resources who must train their minds to see opportunities in the face of difficulties.
This session is designed to be deeply interactive as Dr. Jean-Marc’s focus will be to get you to re-think your strategy, enterprise, goals and hopefully, help you move to the next level.
Long and short is this, it is either you disrupt and get disrupted.
