Cyberchain is set to host the grand finale of Cyberthon, its national security hackathon on Saturday, November 20, 2021.
Cyberthon is Nigeria’s most engaging cybersecurity hacking competition aimed at raising awareness, showcasing skill-sets and rewarding ethical cybersecurity best practices, through competitions, collaborative continuous education and job engagements.
Cyberthon is a hybrid (online and on-premise) ethical hacking, competition, dedicated to finding cybersecurity skill-set.
Individual competitors undertake various online tasks, each round serves as an elimination round until the top 5 contestants emerge.
The application into Cyberthon opened on Friday, October 1, 2021, and saw over a hundred registrations. Over twenty contestants were selected for the first phase of the hackathon which took place between 18-22, October 2021 through a cloud-based elimination phase.
Now taking place soon in November, the grand finale will see the first 5 people with the top scores pass on to the Finale.
The Hackathon is a Capture the Flag type challenge centered around web application security.
The participants are meant to complete tasks (capture flags) for points which will be added up to the participants’ total scores.
At the end of the 24 hours for the Hackathon, the top 5 participants with the highest scores emerge as finalists to compete in the CTF game live in person at Oriental Hotel on 20th November 2021.
