An indigenous startup in Nigeria CodeLn has launched an automated tech recruitment platform that makes it easy for companies to hire tech-smart African Software Engineers.
The start-up was founded in 2018 by Philisiah Mwaluma, Dennis Nduta, Dexter Ouattara and Elohor Thomas. The four individuals met while taking part in the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST).
CodeLn provides a solution that, automates the entirety of the tech recruitment process end-to-end.
Upon completion of the programme in 2018, the startup bagged $100,000 in funding from MEST. Recruiters can now post a job and in seconds receive recommended candidates that matched the required skills, conduct an online test to vet expertise, schedule interview, and present a job offer, all this takes place on the platform.
“Currently, we have a database that contains of over 8,000 software engineers from across 12 countries in Africa, and on a daily base, the number is rapidly growing. We have developed an in-built testing tool which we use to test our engineers to ensure quality on the platform, a good percentage of them are already verified and available on the marketplace for immediate employment,” said Elohor Thomas, chief executive officer (CEO), CodeLn.
There are plans to venture into other countries in Africa, but for now, CodeLn offices can be found in Lagos, Accra, and Nairobi via the MEST Incubator network.
One CodeLn aims are to become the foremost global go-to marketplace for verified African tech talent.
For now, it will be offering a free list of interns to companies registering on the platform between now and the end of December. The interns will be available to work and assist with the companies in all their projects.
