Bumpa a Nigerian startup has closed a $200, 000 pre-seed funding to further reach its users while expanding its product feature.
Taking part in the funding round include, Microtraction, Venture Arm, Aidi Ventures, Whogohost, Greencap Equity, Rizq Investment Group, DFS Labs, HOAQ Club, and some notable angel investors.
The startup supports retail businesses in managing their ventures from the comfort of their mobile phones.
Launched early this year by the duo of Adetunji Opayele and Kelvin Umechukwu, Bumpa provides businesses with the requirements to move online without having to use a programming skill.
Bumpa allows businesses to create an e-commerce store through their mobile phones while also carrying out payments both online and offline, tracking sales, managing inventory and engaging with customers.
According to the founders, the startup has onboarded more than 7,000 merchants, recording a 50 percent growth rate. Over 30,000 products have been listed with a recorded transaction worth US$500,000.
With this new closed seed funding, Bumpa is aiming to reach 200,000 merchants while expanding its team support.
Speaking on the closed fund, Kelvin Umechukwu, Co-founder at Bumpa said:
