This is not your everyday phone. The phone can among other things power a tablet module using its own Operating System! Basically, this means that you have a phone and a tablet all in one device.
Besides other astounding features, this padFone comes with full HD features on a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor
DESIGN
The build of the PadFone utilizes aerospace-grade aluminum alloy. Its cover is fully metallic with a vertical brush pattern across the back. When viewed from bottom or top, the PadFone appears slightly curved being 8.9mm thick at the center and 6mm around the edges.
The back’s gentle curve may compromise a firmer grip of the phone, but it designed to end at straight edges. This gives it a more solid feel. The back has a well-polished straight metal pattern. This gives the phone a super clean look.
The front screen is scratch-resistant. It covers almost the entire front surface leaving a 1mm chamfer all-round the metallic body. This reduces the risk of the screen shattering if it is dropped.
The display of the PadFone is a 5inch full HD 1080p quad core chip display. This makes the PadFone a beast in terms of resolution, viewing angle and color.
On the side, the phone has stylish matte finish of the same color as the back. The phones speakers are on the right side. They are above the power button and volume control of the device. On the left side is a pin-ejection tray. In the tray is the nano-SIM card.
The phone’s top and bottom are artistically lined with a cleverly disguised polycarbonate. This gives the phone impeccable reception despite the metallic body. A 3.5mm jack for headphones is positioned at the top. At the bottom of the phone is the socket for microUSB and microphone. The microUSB socket lies in between two sockets for the tablet’s external antenna to the cellular signal.
Disappointing of the PadFone infinity is the fact that there’s no room for microSD expansion. The phone comes in either the 32GB or 64GB modules. This fact is compensated in ASUS’ 50GB of cloud storage for two years. This is also USB OTG for more external storage.
On the PadFone station of the tablet, the PadFone infinity docks vertically. It is held in place by four serrated silicone rubber grips.
It has a 5,000mAh battery. The life of the battery is enhanced by mechanisms on the software that optimize battery performance.
