One of the top digital corporations, Huawei, has revealed a contest titled “Together we Innovate” for African developers.
The contest aims to improve the abilities of local app developers and encourage teamwork to create a linked app ecosystem. Developers have until 18:00 UTC+8, on October 9, 2022, to send their entries.
The Huawei Global App Innovation Contest (Apps UP), which begins in the summer and runs through December 2022, features thrilling achievements at each stage.
Participants in the competition must register or login in with a valid Huawei ID on the HUAWEI DEVELOPERS website before submitting their work in ZIP or RAR format with a maximum file size of 200 MB.
In eight categories, competitors can enter on their own or in teams of up to three people. Applicants must integrate their app with HMS open features or services using the team leader’s account to be eligible.
The winners will be announced in December 2022 after a combination of public voting and an assessment by judges who are leaders in their fields from each region.
The Middle East and Africa region is rich terrain for app development, claims a report commissioned by Mastercard.

HMS Core continues to develop cutting-edge experiences and multi-terminal, cross-OS, full-scene inventive, and available capabilities, offering solutions to various industries.
In March 2022, more than 203,000 applications had been linked with HMS Core globally. In 2021, there were 5.4 million registered Huawei developers worldwide.
Asides the monetary awards, developers will have access to seminars and development tools, help from Huawei professionals, and the chance to have their winning apps showcased on AppGallery, one of the top three app stores across the globe with more than 730 million Huawei mobile device users.
