Africa Sokoni, a Kenyan e-commerce startup has recently acquired Nigeria’s Bolorims an online supermarket for the sales of the most sought after food items.
This partnership will see the Kenyan company put more effort into expanding its operations across West Africa.
Africa Sokoni is an online market much more like an e-commerce store that aggregates both consumers and retailers on the African continent while offering a very wide array of products for selection.
According to Disrupt Africa, the e-commerce startup in 2019 had secured some amount in funding for expansion purposes. It has now been confirmed with the recent acquisition of Bolorims in Nigeria.
Bolorims would get a 10% stake from the new deal and will now be referred to as Bolosokoni in Nigeria, while it continues as Africa Sokoni in Kenya.
Ebrima Fatty, CEO, AfricaSokoni said the partnership deal with open ways for the Kenyan e-commerce startup to come into the Nigerian market
“The new entity in Nigeria, as a result of this partnership, will be a subsidiary of the AfricaSokoni Group. We are looking forward to another thrilling year, as we take Africa Sokoni, together with our customers, to new heights and create new memories.”
