I remember vividly in 2006 when I purchased my first Laptop (Toshiba). It was brand new one, and it cost me the whole of my savings. On the eve of the day I purchased PC, I had wondered and pondered over the purpose without realizing that I had exclaimed in a loud voice.
Two weeks after purchase, I boot up my computer only to find out that the computer was not working. I took it to Nelson, a well-known computer engineer to fix it all to know avail. “You need to buy a new computer,” Nelson told me. I was just reticent.
Personally, I knew it was my fault. I didn’t do what I was supposed to have done after two weeks of getting my PC. If you have experienced this kind of situation, you might be wondering if you had done something without noticing.
It was just clear to me that my PC had knocked down due to my inability to install some programs.
After all had said and done, I realized that I wasn’t able to install some programs on my laptop. “ordinary anti-virus you no even get for your laptop” the engineer said.
Anti-Virus
I knew I needed anti-virus initially, but I was just applying delay tactics, which eventually hunt me. Without being told, you should be aware that you need an antivirus. Every computer needs to protect against viruses, spyware, and malware.
There are excellent anti-virus applications. Technical people like Nelson told me that I should have installed it on my system. “It is the best free app you can ever have.”
My advice on this is that apart from having AVG installed on your PC, you need other programs too. What you need is combination of different to protect your PC. When getting protection, read what the product offers as protection, so you know what you are going to need.

Removal Tools
I didn’t even know what this was, let alone if having it. Let me make a bit bright. There are times when you buy a PC, and it is pre-loaded with an anti-virus software, though my own never had it. This antivirus program gives you a few days of trial you will be expected to pay once the trial completes. If you don’t want McAfee or Norton Anti-Virus, you will need to download the removal tool to eliminate it from your new PC. If you remove these, remember to install virus removal tools of your choice that can be activated when a virus does end up on your laptop.
WinDirStat
WindDirStat is a program that informs you about how much space programs and videos are eating from your computer or laptop. It provides a comprehensive overview of usage such as programs, documents, pictures, etc. You will be able to eliminate those items that are considered bloatware or causing other problems. Obviously, I never knew about this.
Office Suite
I installed Microsoft office that same day; I got the PC.However, openOffice is a good one to have on your PC. It can emulate many programs out there and is free to download. When you need a document that you don’t want to make public, use OpenOffice or whatever program you choose.
Instant Messaging
Instant messaging are trendy nowadays, people do some stuff on different social media messages and work simultaneously. However, in that case, it is imperative you have an application that enables you to manage manages your email and the various social media accounts in one application, such as Disby.
Today, you might not need as many applications on your PC as you used to need. So many products, such as customer relations, are available as a cloud-based system. You just need a login and password to access these programs.
