3 Winners Emerge as Founder Institute, Announces Its Fellowship Candidates in Nigeria

Barely two months after Founder Institute launched in Lagos, on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, the Institute, has announced its Fellowship winners, for the Female and Frontier Founder, within five days, of the Sunday, April 28, 2019, Early Admission Deadline.

Olamide Ogungbemi and Mercy Akowe emerged the preferred candidates for the Female Founder, while Joesph Awotabe, emerged the sole candidate for the Frontier Founder Fellowship. Both Fellowship programs are part of the Lagos 2019 Semester.

The Female and Frontier Founder Fellowship are a number of different Fellowships, offered by the Institute, in providing opportunities for promising Founders, to launch companies in the Institute’s Idea-stage Startup Accelerator Program.

Olamide and Mercy were both awarded this category of the Fellowship, for being the most extraordinary technical applicants, giving them the opportunity to participate in the Institute program for free. Both recipients will be recognized, as women with the utmost potentials, to become successful technology entrepreneurs.

“The Founder Institute is committed to narrowing the gender gap in high tech Startups and in order to empower more females to launch technology companies, we have launched the Female Founder Initiative, to create more opportunities for female Founders, through the Institute and enable women to build successful companies”, the spokesman for the Institute explained.

Joesph Awotabe emerged the candidate for the Frontier Technology Fellowship, after demonstrating the highest potentials, for transformative impact. The Institute aims to inspire and empower ambitious entrepreneurs, to pursue world-changing problems and create transformative changes for humanity.

”There is no shortage of big problems, facing humanity, but there is a shortage of ambitious Startups, trying to solve them. More than ever before, however, entrepreneurs building impact-focused companies, can truly change the world”, the spokesman further reiterated.
