Twenty startups emerged winners at the recently concluded Seedstars Migration Entrepreneurship Prize.
Eleven of these startups were from Africa with 3 coming from Nigeria. The prize competition is designed for startups that are socially driven with a mission of enabling migrants from the Middle East and Africa to access financial inclusion.
Tunisia produced 5 startups which include, ReBootKamp, HackUp, Sgarthoon, FabSkill and iCompass. From South Africa were BotsZA and Abela while Egypt produced EYouth.
Here are the 3 Nigerian startups that emerged as part of the Migration Entrepreneurship Prize winners:
Glade
This platform is a fintech startup that serves as a modern business banking for the growth of SMB’s, startups, and freelancers in Africa.
Liyi Victor is the Co-founder and CEO of this startup established in 2019, and he has worked particularly in areas focused on the intersection of technology, product, culture and growth.
According to the website, the platform is powering growth for innovative African enterprises by fundamentally changing how small businesses access banking and financial services.
Glade is an integrated digital platform for growing business on a global scale.
“We help support business at every stage; built for sole-traders, entrepreneurs, startups and other small businesses”, a statement reads on its website.
Also according to its website, Glade is creating simple products supported by modern banking infrastructure and small business-focused bank that will help businesses in Africa achieve their potentials, and help the economy grow.
Toju
The startup is a financial toolbox for local savings clubs and non-banking microfinance institutions.
It “Digitizes The Bank Of The Unbanked”, with a complete record management tool and financial service toolbox for thrift collectors, cooperatives and local saving clubs.
Basically, Toju provides affordable financial services to the last mile users, helping local financial service providers do more by keeping better records and giving them additional income streams
With its multi-platforms, you can use its solution regardless of your device, as it supports Web and mobile options, more options in the pipeline.
Toju Mobile App allows its users to work without the internet and automatically synchronize their records when they eventually have access to the internet.
Toju’s algorithm automatically helps create a credit profile for all registered members by translating their daily transactional activities into acceptable credit rating for any lending institution.
Olaide Muideen is the CEO and Managing Director of the fintech startup that also support access to collateral-free loans with low interest rates.

The startup is a handyman service platform that connects you with professional Handyman on the go near you.
Get It Done Now is an online marketplace for trusted vendors backed by a global digital payments company
According to its website, the app makes it very easy to hire a reliable handyman from painters, electricians, plumbers at an affordable rate, covering Lagos and Nigeria.
